AT THE EDGE OF THE WAVE with Brian Bielmann

The summer is still here so what is more appropriate than one surf photographer's portfolio. Especially when we talk about the legend in the surf photography. I present you Brian Bielmann.

Brian Bielman or “Uncle Brian” is born in NY in 1957 and started surfing at the age of 13. Soon after graduation he moves to Hawaii. From then till now his mission is simple: “I take the viewer to places they haven't visited and to see things unlike anything they have seen before.”
His amazing shots make us part of the adventurous surf life where the most important thing is to respect the sea. Bielman do not take photos of waves and surfers - he creates shots so intense that you can feel the ocean. It is really hard to pick his best shots because his work is a piece of art.
Brian Bielmann was also the personal photographer of the late three-time world champion surfer Andy Irons. After Iron’s death he made tribute about the surf legend.

"It has now been 30 years of surfing and photography for me, and what a long, strange trip it has been. Lots of crazy people, lots of exotic places. Not much money, but a fantastic life."
"I thought if I were a surf photographer, I would surf forever, too stupid to realize that I will be shooting when the waves are good."
